FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does it cost to submit a film?
It is free, no submission fees. And we do not pay any fee for screenings at Ladek Mountain Festival. However there’s Ladek Film Tour (see here below) where you can get paid for the film.
What do I get if my films is accepted to the Festival?
Priceless treasures: an all-access Festival Pass, festival t-shirt, accommodation (B&B) during the festival, possibility of presenting your film to the best audience in the world!
Please let us know not later than 15th of August whether you’re coming to the Festival. If you do come, you’ll be invited to introduce your film in person at the public screening and/or do a Q&A session after it.
What do I get if my film wins?
The winners will be awarded with a diploma and laurels which can be used in promotional materials. If the corresponding category is supported by our sponsors, a financial award is also possible.
Do I have to be present at Awards Ceremony?
Of course! We strongly recommend that. We offer transport from/to the airport and accommodation to the authors of the shortlisted films. The shortlist will be announced on 15th of August 2020.
What is Ladek Promo?
What is Ladek Film Tour?
Ladek Film Tour project is about showing in Poland the films participating in the Film Competition. The cinemas all around the country will be encouraged to select the titles that suit most their needs, screening time and type of audience. And their budgets, of course. Most of the cinemas are not big venues, they can be small culture centres in little towns as well. Part of the revenue will get back to the authors of the films. If you answer YES to Ladek Film Tour when filling up the entry form, you’ll be given more details afterwards.
What film length do you recommend?
You should take a full length mountain film and cut it in half. Then cut another 10 minutes and maybe shorten ot a little bit more. Now it is perfect! It is a joke of course but seriously – best films are from 10 to 40 minutes. A good story can be told in 120 seconds but even an amazing adventure can be murdered in a never-ending production.
What is it Mountain Film, what types of films do you accept?
Mountain Film is a very wide category – it includes every kind of mountain sport and activity. We also accept films where mountains are only a background. The most important is to tell a powerful story. We do not want just a GoPro footage showing your holidays. Technical quality counts as well but it’s not crucial.
Is the Film Competition open only to the professional filmmakers?
Competition is open to everybody. Professional filmmakers, tv journalists and travellers submit their films every year. Amateur productions are also appreciated by Jury and the audience.
