Elisabeth Revol

Elisabeth Revol – French- 38 years old – sport teacher and extreme mountaineer. I made a world record in 2008 with free solo climbing on Gasherbrum 1 and 2 in just 52,5 ours -without the help of Sherpas and without additional oxygen.

My story: I come from Alps and I was member of famous group of young team of best alpinist in France (FFCAM : mountain federation).

My passion for altitude has taken me from my home mountains of the Massif des Ecrins, Mont Blanc, to the Tatras mountains, Bolivia, Nepal and Pakistan.

In the last ten years I have repeated and opened routes, from very technical to less technical, from the north face of Eiger, Jorasse, Cervin, Droite, Dru to Gasherbrum, Broad Peak, Lhotse. I have cross some of the longer ridge on the planet like Annapurna I (East to Tare Kang, and south from north). We reached 7800 m in alpine style on Nanga Parbat in Winter 2015, 7500 m in 2016 and summit in 2018 with Tomasz. And a descent to hell, dramatic.

The feeling of being on top of the world is what drives me. I says that from the beginning it was curiosity that made my climb and as a little girl I wanted to reach higher and discover what was above. climbing and alpinism opened up a new world to me, and has become what makes me realize my dreams.

My philosophie : I always climb in alpine style, without supplementary of oxygen and I like to go fast. And there is only one direction to go : upwards, and the higher.

My main goal for this year was : to overcome my own limits and climb in winter an 8000 by myself and without additional oxygen… to go fast and high in spring…
